ELMHURST, Ill. - Three Summit League men's soccer players earned first team Academic All-District honors presented by ESPN The Magazine. IUPUI forward Eric Weigman and Western Illinois defender Kevin Ross were honored in District 5 while UMKC defender Matt Kopsky garnered a District 7 selection.

Weigman, a finance major from Appleton, Wis., has a 3.87 GPA and has started all 16 games for the Jaguars this season. The senior has five points on the year with two goals and one assist.  Weigman is also a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS award, presented to the top men's soccer student-athlete to recognize athletic and academic performances and community service.

Ross, a junior with a 4.00 GPA as a business major, hails from Cochrane, Alberta. He is in second season with the Fighting Leathernecks after transferring to WIU.

Kopsky, a business administration major from Chesterfield, Mo., has a 3.93 GPA. On the field, he has started all 15 games as a key member of the Kangaroos' defense.

All three student-athletes will be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America voting, set for November.
