CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS TOMORROW
The Summit League starts its championship season tomorrow with the 2009 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships in Cedar City, Utah. The Southern Utah women have had a strong year with senior Sharla Manuele and junior Diana Medina leading the way. The duo recorded the top-2 times (6k) in the league this year. Click

BISON CHASE TITLE AND RECORD
North Dakota State can clinch The Summit League regular-season championship and No. 1 tournament seed at home this weekend with victories over UMKC and Southern Utah. The Bison also look to tie a 16-year-old record for most consecutive league wins at 32. The record was previously set by Northern Illinois in 1992 and 1993 as a member of the then named Mid-Continent Conference. For all the latest on NDSU volleyball, click

DECISION WEEKEND
With the last weekend of women's soccer action, six teams (Centenary, IPFW, IUPUI, Oakland, Oral Roberts and Western Illinois) are vying for the final two spots in the league tournament to be held Nov. 6 & 8, in Brookings, S.D. SOCCER ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT
Seven Summit League soccer players earned first team Academic All-District honors presented by ESPN The Magazine. On the
men's side, IUPUI forward Eric Weigman and Western Illinois defender Kevin Ross were honored in District 5 while UMKC defender Matt Kopsky garnered a District 7 selection. For the women, IUPUI midfielder Katrina McCrory, and Western Illinois defenders Jennifer Green and Amanda Wright were selected in District 5, while North Dakota State midfielder Becky Iwanicki received the District 7 selection. Three women's players, Anna Pigg from IUPUI, Tara O'Toole from IPFW and Megan Dean from North Dakota State were also honored as Academic All-District second team. The First Team All-District selections are eligible for Academic All-American honors.

BASKETBALL MEETS THE PRESS
With basketball season right around the corner, The Summit League conducted its 2009-10 Basketball Media Day, Wednesday, with men's and women's coaches from all 10 league institutions. Click

SPURS EXTEND HILL'S CONTRACT
The San Antonio Spurs exercised their option on former IUPUI standout George Hill's contract to keep him through the 2010-11 season. The 2008 Summit League Player of the Year averaged 5.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game as a rookie. Hill, a first round pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, was immediately a fan favorite among Spurs fans and has been dubbed Gregg Popovich's favorite player this by the longtime Spurs head coach.
