WOMEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP BEGINS TODAY
The Summit League Championship season continues today, as the Women's Soccer Championship begins in Brookings, S.D.  No. 1 seed South Dakota State will play No. 4 seed Western Illinois at 3 p.m. (CT), followed by No. 2 seed IUPUI taking on No. 3 seed North Dakota State at 6 p.m. Live
webstreaming and stats are available. The championship match will be held Sunday at noon, with the league winner receiving an automatic berth to the NCAA Women's College Cup. For all the latest on the Women's Soccer Championship, click here.

MEN'S SOCCER REACHES END OF REGULAR SEASON
The 2009 Men's Soccer Championship is slated for next weekend (Nov. 13/15) in Rochester, Mich., with Oakland having clinched the No.1 seed. Western Illinois, UMKC and IUPUI have secured spots in the tournament, but are still fighting for seeding as the regular season wraps up this weekend. Click

ACADEMIC HONORS
Summit League volleyball player Emily Harrison, from Western Illinois, was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team. Harrison was selected as a second team District 5 honoree. Click

HUNT NAMED USTA DISTRICT PRESIDENT
Western Illinois head tennis coach Michael Hunt was named to the USTA/Middle Illinois District president after serving as the executive vice president of the organization for the last three years. The USTA/Middle Illinois District is the governing body for 39 counties in Illinois including cities such as Champaign-Urbana, Bloomington-Normal and Peoria. Click
