NOTE - The seeds for next weekend's Summit League Championship are as follows: 1) Oakland, 2) Western Illinois, 3) IUPUI,
4) UMKC. Western Illinois held the tiebreaker over IUPUI based on its head-to-head victory.

Western Illinois 0, Oakland 0, 2OT
MACOMB,  Ill. (goleathernecks.com) - Western Illinois goalkeeper
Stephen Paterson broke the school record for career shutouts Saturday afternoon as the Fighting Leathernecks tied Oakland, 0-0 (2OT).

"I really wanted to win the game and wasn't worried about the record," said Paterson after his senior-day performance. "But it does feel great to own the record."

Paterson recorded his 21st career shutout in the tie against Oakland, breaking Ric Vondermark's record of 20 shutouts set in 1987.

"The shutout was great," said Western Illinois head coach
Dr. Eric Johnson. "We had to use a lot of players today due to injuries and those guys stepped up and played well. Defensively, we played okay, and were good enough to shut them down."

With 20 seconds left to play in regulation,
Husref Jupic found an open spot in the defensive and passed the ball to an open Nathan Sanchez running down the left-side of the field, but Sanchez's shot to win the match was stopped by Oakland's goalkeeper to send the game into overtime.

"We thought we would have won the match with the number of quality of chances we had this afternoon, but we didn't," said Johnson.

Western was unable to convert on a penalty kick in the 94th minute as Paterson's kick was saved by the fingertips of Mitch Hildebrandt to keep the match scoreless.

The Western offense out shot Oakland by five (18-13) and took two more shots on goal (6-4) in the match. Sanchez led the attack with four shots and two shots on goal while Jupic and
Jonathan Sandoval both added two shots and a shot on goal.

Defensively, Paterson recorded four saves in 110 minutes of action while collecting his fourth shutout of the season.

IPFW 3, UMKC 2, OT
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (gomastodons.com) - On Senior Day 2009, it was a freshman the played hero. In the game's 105th minute midfielder Brent Helton fired a shot from 25 yards out that closed the game and the season for the Mastodons as they downed the UMKC Kangaroos, 3-2.

The 'Roos were the first to strike. David Sarabia got a head on a cross from teammate Sean Butler in the 30th minute to give his squad the early advantage.

Trailing 1-0, senior Ben Haifley converted on a PK four minutes later to even the scoreboard at 1-1. The goal is Haifley's first of the season and second of his IPFW career.

Another four minutes later, UMKC's Bryan Perez scored the third goal of the period as he broke out and beat the IPFW keeper one-on-one to give the 'Roos a 2-1 advantage to close out the first half.

Just 45 seconds into the second half, Mitch Falkenstern and converted on the one-on-one opportunity. Touloute's six goals is the tops on the team and surpasses his team-best season total from the 2008 campaign.

But after this flurry of scoring, with four goals in 15 minutes of action, both offenses skidded to a stand-still. Very few scoring opportunities came until the second overtime.

Four and a half minutes into the second period of bonus soccer, Helton gathered an attempted clear outside the box and fired a line-drive laser past the UMKC keeper for the golden goal, giving the 'Dons a 3-2 victory to close out the 2009 season.

Touloute took seven shots to lead the IPFW offense while keeper Donovan Dowling posted two saves in the win.

Oral Roberts 1, SIU Edwardsville 1, 2OT
TULSA, Okla. (orugoldeneagles.com) - The Oral Roberts University men's soccer team tied SIU-Edwardsville by a score of 1-1 on Saturday at the ORU Soccer Complex. The Golden Eagles ended the season with a 6-8-3 overall record.

Edwardsville got on the board first at the 31:05 mark of the first half when Chris Anzalone scored off of a Randy Roy assist.

The Golden Eagles countered nine minutes later when
Jarrett Hamilton posted his team-leading fourth goal off of a dish from Nikola Bogdanovic to even the score before the opening half.

Neither team would score for the final 70 minutes as the contest ended as a tie after two overtime periods.

IUPUI 3, Centenary 2, OT
SHREVEPORT, La. - Yogi Snider's golden goal in the 98th minute lifted IUPUI to a 3-2 road victory over Centenary to close out The Summit League regular season. The Jaguars improved to 5-10-3, 3-2-1 in the league, with the win while the Gents ended their season at 3-14-1, 1-5-0.

After a scoreless first half, IUPUI's Perez Agaba opened the scoring at 49:22 on a goal from Nate Ohmer and Eric Weigman. Just over three minutes later, Centenary knotted the game on a successful penalty kick by John McHugh.

The Gents struck again three minutes after their initial tally, with an unassisted goal by Mo Assi that put them ahead 2-1.

IUPUI knotted the match and sent it to overtime 75:53 on a marker by Michael Wignot from Kyle Hyland.

Tyler Keever was the victorious goalkeeper with five saves. Centenary's Rennie Walker allowed all three goals and made two stops while Cole Campbell added three saves for the Gents.
