EUGENE, Ore. -- Oral Roberts senior Rachel Talbert recorded a third-place finish in the discus throw on Wednesday at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., to garner USTFCCCA All-America honors.

Talbert closed out a remarkable career as a Golden Eagle by posting a mark of 54.09 meters in the discus event to place third out of 22 competitors. Talbert earned her second-career All-America honor, as the Newton, Kan., native finished sixth in the discus throw at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Talbert becomes the 13th Golden Eagle to earn multiple All-America honors and the 48th selection overall for the ORU track and field program.

South Dakota State's Sara Ackman's second shot in the discuss fell short as she ended her season with a throw of 44.62m, placing 22nd out of 24 throwers.

Marvin Bonde also competed on Wednesday, racing to a time of 10.37 to finish 13th in the 100-meter dash. Bonde will have another shot at earning All-America status on Thursday in the preliminary 200-meter dash.

North Dakota State senior Heather Zander sits in 11th place with 3,245 points in the heptathlon after the first day of action, with  junior Whitney Carlson is in 18th with 3,069 points. The heptathlon concludes Thursday with the long jump, javelin and 800 meters.  Action begins at 3:45 p.m. (CT)

NDSU freshman Toni Tollefson competed in the high jump, but failed to clear the opening height of 1.72m.
