SUU's Shaw Named Freshman All-American By Ping!Baseball

ELMHURST, Ill. -- Southern Utah catcher Taylor Shaw has been named to the Ping!Baseball Freshman All-American Third Team it was announced Monday.

In 24 league games, Shaw hit .400 with a .458 on-base percentage and .553 slugging percentage. He collected 34 hits with 21 runs scored, 14 RBI, seven doubles and two home runs. For the year, the Pleasant View, Utah, native hit .364 with four roundtrippers and 28 RBI. Shaw also recorded a .971 fielding percentage behind the plate during the 2010 campaign.

Shaw becomes just the 14th player in Summit League history to earn Freshman All-America honors and the first since Oral Roberts' Jerry Sullivan in 2007.
