If you were not a coach, what job would you be doing? I really enjoy helping others so I would either be an attorney or a pastor.

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? A mission trip. 

What fad/trend do you hope makes a comeback? Drive-in movies.  

Why did you decide to become a coach? I love the game of basketball and I've seen what the game can do for people who approach it the right way.

What is something you will NEVER do again? Jump in a pool when the temperature is below freezing!  

What are some of the events in your life that made you who you are today? Being born to my wonderful parents, marrying my fabulous wife and the birth of our two terrific daughters.

Who is your favorite professional sports team and/or athlete? I'm a BIG Houston Astros fan (it helps that, the time of this interview, the Astros have the best record in MLB).

What is/was your favorite article of clothing that you have ever owned? A Nike baseball cap.  

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received? Best – You add value when you're willing to serve others. Worst – Make quick decisions.

 What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten? Octopus… I HATED it!!

What mythical creature do you wish actually existed? Santa Claus.

What is your favorite movie/TV show? Hoop Dreams and Hoosiers.

What was the best thing to happen to you this year? Becoming head coach at ORU. I'm excited about the possibilities here.

What is/was your favorite vacation destination? Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

What kind of music do you listen to most frequently? Gospel.

If you could add one Summit League athlete to your team, who would you choose? I haven't watched a single Summit League game up to this point so I have no idea. Ask me in a year.

What is your biggest pet peeve? Smacking.
