The new season of “Inside The Summit League” debuted last week, view the list of channels and times or watch online at thesummitleague.org/itsl. Remembering South Dakota State’s Phillip LaVallee and Omaha’s transition to Division I highlight this week’s broadcast.
Four teams are in action this weekend, including Fort Wayne hosting the IPFW Invitational.
Six men’s and six women’s teams are competing in tournaments this week to begin their fall season.
IUPUI sophomore goalkeeper Eduardo Cortes collected his third career Defensive Player of the Week award, tying him for the third on The Summit League’s all-time list (award began in 2002).
All eight teams are in non-league tournament this weekend … Highlighting this weekend’s action are two matches against top-20 opponents, North Dakota State hosts No. 17 Louisville and Western Illinois faces No. 4 Minnesota … NDSU and Omaha both host their home openers on Friday in non-league tournaments.
Denver moved up five slots to No. 20 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire National Poll, the highest of any women’s soccer team in league history … The Pioneers host the Denver Invitational this weekend, taking on UT Martin and Alabama … Fort Wayne hosts Miami (Ohio) Friday, its fifth-straight home match and eighth consecutive regular season match dating back to last season, the most in program history … South Dakota State hosts the Jackrabbit Invitational this weekend with matches against Nevada and Northern Illinois.
