MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (oruathletics.com) -- Oral Roberts starting pitcher Miguel Ausua and outfielder Noah Cummings were named NCBWA All-Americans it was announced today.
Ausua earned second team honors, while Cummings was listed on the third team.
A junior starter, Ausua was named The Summit League's Pitcher of the Year after recording a league-high 11 wins (11-3) with a 1.65 ERA. He accumulated 85 strikeouts against just 30 walks in 92.2 innings pitched. The Puerto Rico native had his lone complete game shutout on the year in the tournament championship game against North Dakota State.
Cummings, a junior outfielder, earned the league's Player of the Year award with a .321 batting average with 47 runs scored and 70 RBI. He totaled 15 home runs and 14 doubles during the 2017 campaign. His 70 RBI and 47 runs led The Summit League, while his .567 slugging percentage and 15 homers ranked second.
Ausua and Cummings become the first league players named NCBWA All-America since South Dakota State's Trevor Vermeulen in 2010.
