NDSU's Anderson Places Second at World University Golf Championship

LIBEREC, Czech Republic - North Dakota State's Amy Anderson finished second at the World University Golf Championship on Friday, July 6, at the Ypsilon Golf Resort.
Anderson, a 19-year-old from Oxbow, N.D., who is entering her senior year at NDSU, finished the four-round, 72-hole tournament at 16-under-par 272.
She shot a 4-under 68 in the final round but fell one shot behind Spain's Camila Hedberg Bertrand, who scored an 8-under 64 to erase Anderson's three-shot lead entering the day.
Spain won the 16-team tournament by tiebreaker over the United States after both teams scored 545. Germany was third with a 557, Sweden fourth with 561 and Chinese Taipei fifth with 567.
Each team had three players and counted two scores each round. Anderson's rounds of 67, 69, 68 and 68 all counted toward the team score. Her U.S. teammates were Georgia's Emilie Burger and Michigan State's Caroline Powers.
