ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver's Sophie Newlove and Oral Roberts' Beatriz Garcia were named Summit League Women's Golfers of the Week for their performances during the week of April 5-11.

SOPHIE NEWLOVE, DENVER

  • Collected her first career Golfer of the Week award
  • Finished tied for fourth place out of 60 golfers with a single-round 72 at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic
  • Defeated No. 19 Oklahoma State's Isabella Deilert 3&2 in the first round of match play at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic
  • Finished the week with a 72.0 stroke average

BEATRIZ GARCIA, ORAL ROBERTS

  • Earned her first career Golfer of the Week honor
  • Finished tied for third place out of 54 golfers with a 54-hole 219 (76-69-74) at the Dale McNamara Invitational
  • Her low-round 69 and 54-hole score are the lowest of her career
  • Finished the week with a 73.0 stroke average
