Nine Summit Leaguers Named to NABC Honors Court

ELMHURST, Ill. – A total of nine Summit League men's basketball players were recognized for the academic achievements as members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 2011-12 Honors Court. Half of The Summit League's 10 teams from 2011-12 had at least one student-athlete honored.

Kansas City led the way with four selections followed by Summit League Champion South Dakota State with two. IUPUI, North Dakota State and Oakland were also represented on the list.

The accolade recognizes college basketball student-athletes who excelled in the classroom during the past season. The qualifications standards for the NABC Honors Court are as follows:

  1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
  2. Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2011-12 academic year.
  3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
  4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA institution.
