Fort Wayne 86, Eastern Illinois 65
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Steve Forbes scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds as Fort Wayne cruised to an 86-65 victory over Eastern Illinois on Saturday.

Forbes was 6 of 8 from the field and nailed 8 of 8 free throws. Luis Jacobo came off the bench to post 18 points and six rebounds for the Mastodons (9-4). Isaiah McCray had 15 points with four assists and a steal. Fort Wayne sank 54.7 percent from the field, 62.5 percent from the line and 56.5 percent from 3-point range.

Fort Wayne had a 54-39 advantage at halftime and started the second period with an 11-2 run fueled by Forbes and Michael Kibiloski to put the game out of reach of the Panthers.

The win was the fourth straight for the Mastodons and the sixth straight loss for the Panthers.

Alex Austin led the Panthers (3-7) with 16 points.

South Dakota State 77, North Dakota 70
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Brayden Carlson scored 22 points and Cody Larson added 21 on Saturday and South Dakota State held off a North Dakota surge to win 77-70.

Troy Huff opened with a dunk for North Dakota(3-7), but Larson hit a jumper, layup and free throw to put the Jackrabbits (7-7) ahead 7-2, and Anders Broman hit back-to-back 3-pointers to boost the lead to 19-10. But North Dakota came back with a 12-2 run, tying the game at 32 at halftime on a jumper by Jamal Webb.

The lead traded hands four times in the second half until 14:30, when Carlson hit a 3-pointer, sparking a 9-0 run and a 49-40 Jackrabbits lead. North Dakota rallied, making it a one-point game on a Quinton Hooker jumper, but the Jackrabbits pulled ahead on back-to-back treys by
Jordan Dykstra and Carlson and held on for the win.

Huff scored 30 points for North Dakota.

North Dakota State 90, Towson 82
FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Taylor Braun and Marcus Bjorklund each scored 28 points to propel North Dakota State past Towson 90-82 Saturday night.

The Bison (9-4) trailed briefly in the second half, but regained the lead when Lawrence Alexander drained a 3-pointer. Alexander added a layup, another 3-pointer and two free throws to spark a 19-8 run for North Dakota State, pushing the lead to 62-52 at the 10:54 mark.

Towson (7-6) used a run of their own to pull within three on a Jerrelle Benimon jumper. North Dakota State answered with Alexander hitting another 3-pointer and Bjorklund adding a pair of free throws and a jumper to make it 79-69 with 1:48 remaining.

North Dakota State shot 56 percent and committed just five turnovers. Alexander scored all 19 of his points in the second half.

Benimon led the Tigers with 29 points and 12 rebounds while Four McGlynn added 16 points.

UC Irvine 63, Denver 50
DENVER (AP) - Chris McNealy and Luke Nelson scored 14 points each as UC Irvine broke away with hot shooting in the second half to defeat Denver 63-50 on Saturday.

The Anteaters (7-6) bolted out from a 28-27 halftime lead with a 15-8 run that featured three 3-pointers by Nelson.

UC Irvine made 24 of 39 field goals, the 61.5 percent its best shooting of the season.

The Pioneers (5-6) came as close as four, 47-43 on a Bryant Rucker jumper -- his only bucket of the game -- with 10:50 to play. But UC Irvine scored the next eight points, including a McNealy 3 on a pass from Nelson. McNealy, a senior, was 6 of 11 from the field and has scored 982 career points.

Brett Olson led Denver with 14 points and Jalen Love added 11. The Pioneers hit just 17 of 50 field goals and shot 7-for-25 from 3-point range.

UC Santa Barbara 61, Western Illinois 55
LOGAN, Utah (AP) - Alan Williams scored 22 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead UC Santa Barbara to a 61-55 victory over Western Illinois Saturday night.

Williams went 6 of 11 from the field and 10 of 12 from the line. Michael Bryson scored 11 points for the Gauchos (7-4) and Eric Childress came off the bench to post 8.

A close first half ended with Western Illinois holding a 29-24 advantage after leading by as many as six. UC Santa Barbara took a 34-31 lead at 15:12 in the second on a Kyle Boswell 3-pointer. Another 3 by Boswell and a bucket by Williams in the final minutes gave the Gauchos lead for good.

The Gauchos struggled with accuracy from the field, hitting just 36 percent overall. The Leathernecks (5-7) had 16 turnovers in the game, nine of which were forced by UCSB.

Jabari Sandifer led the Leathernecks with 13 points.

Indiana State 81, IUPUI 61
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Manny Arop scored 25 points on Saturday to lead Indiana State over IUPUI 81-61.

Indiana State allowed IUPUI to within 59-55 but held the Jaguars to only one field goal and six points over the final 10 minutes. Indiana State scored the last 10 points of the game, highlighted by back-to-back dunks by Dawon Cummings and Khristian Smith.

The Sycamores opened the game on a 15-2 run and shot 30 of 54 (55.6 percent). Arop was 9 of 13 from the floor, 4 of 5 from 3-point range and grabbed six rebounds. Justin Gant added 18 points for the Sycamores.

IUPUI fought back to within 45-42 and stayed close with the Sycamores for the first ten minutes of the second half.

Marcellus Barksdale led the Jaguars with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Mitch Patton added 15 points and Ian Chiles had 13.
