ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois' Garret Covington was named as The Summit League's Men's Basketball Player of the Week following his performance Dec. 30-Jan. 5.

Covington earned his first career honor after scoring a career-high 26 points against Colonial foe William & Mary (8-5). He connected on a career-best five three-pointers in the contest, shooting 83.3 percent from both beyond the arc and at the free throw line. Covington also pulled down five rebounds and had two assists and one steal.
