North Dakota State 85, South Dakota State 77
BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - Taylor Braun made his last six field goals and finished with 30 points, six rebounds and six assists as North Dakota State beat South Dakota State 85-77.
Braun's performance highlighted the outstanding all-around shooting of NDSU (15-5, 4-1 Summit League) which was 27 of 48 from the field, 8 of 15 from 3-point range and 23 of 28 from the free-throw line.
Marshall Bjorklund added 19 points for the Bison and Lawrence Alexander scored 15.
NDSU led 41-37 at halftime and opened the second with a 13-2 run capped by Braun's jumper to make it 54-39.
Jordan Dykstra's 3-pointer brought the Jackrabbits to within 80-75 with 39 seconds left, but the Bison made 5 of 6 from the free-throw line to secure the victory.
Brayden Carlson led SDSU (10-10, 2-3) with 22 points. Dykstra added 17 points and eight rebounds while Chad White scored 16 and Cody Larson 14.
Omaha 77, South Dakota 73
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - CJ Carter scored 18 points with five assists as Nebraska-Omaha defeated South Dakota 77-73 Saturday.
Justin Simmons had 16 points and three rebounds for the Mavericks (12-8, 2/3 Summit). Marcus Tyus came off the bench to score 12 points and Mike Rostampour added 10 points and led the team with nine rebounds.
South Dakota's Tyler Larson opened the contest with a 3-pointer and two buckets from the paint in the first five minutes to give the Coyotes an early 8-4 advantage. They led 32-27 at the break.
Trevor Gruis led the scoring for the Coyotes (8-11, 3-2) with 16 points. Brandon Bos added 14 points and five rebounds.
Fort Wayne 90, IUPUI 75
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Luis Jacobo led a balanced offensive attack with 19 points as Fort Wayne took down IUPUI 90-75 Saturday.
Fort Wayne (16-6, 4-1 Summit League) shot 56.5 percent from the field, and made 13 of 26 3-pointers.
The Mastodons hot shooting spurred them to a 44-29 halftime advantage, aided by 20-8 run to erase an early deficit and open a 30-16 lead.
Fort Wayne continued to pull away in the second half, led by 11 second-half points from Jacobo.
Jacobo was 5 of 8 from long range in the game and Michael Kibiloski was 4 of 8 on 3-pointers to lead the Mastodons. Steve Forbes scored 16 while Pierre Bland had 16 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for Fort Wayne. Kibiloski added 14 and Mo Evans had 10 points.
Khufu Najee led IUPUI (5-17, 0-5) with 20 points. Mitch Patton and Ja'Rob McCallum each added 18 while Marcellus Barksdale contributed 13 points.
Denver 67, Western Illinois 55
MACOMB, Ill. (AP) - Chris Udofia scored 17 points to lead Denver to a 67-55 victory over Western Illinois on Saturday night.
Udofia shot 5 of 6 from the floor and finished with five assists. Denver's Cam Griffin, who entered the game with the best field goal percentage in The Summit League at 83.3 percent, shot just 1 of 5 from the field and had four points.
The Pioneers (10-10, 3-2 Summit) went on a 7-0 run before the break that put them ahead 28-16, which proved critical in the outcome. Both teams scored 39 points in the second half.
Western Illinois held a 31-18 advantage on the glass, but 19 turnovers led to 15 points for Denver. Garret Covington led the Leathernecks (8-12, 2-3) with 12 points.
The Pioneers turned the ball over nine times, the 12th time this season that Denver has had 10 turnovers or fewer.
