Fort Wayne’s Forbes Named #SummitMBB Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Steve Forbes earned The Summit League's Player of the Week award following his performance Dec. 1-7.

Forbes earned his first career Player of the Week honor after averaging 23.5 points and 10 rebounds per game in a pair of Fort Wayne victories. He twice set a career-high point total, beginning with a 22-point performance to go along with 10 rebounds in a road win at Stetson. In his next outing vs. Miami (Ohio), Forbes scored 25 and pulled down 10 boards in the victory. He shot 70 percent for the week and made 19-of-24 free throws while becoming the first Mastodon player since 2009-10 to record back-to-back double-doubles.

Over the past five seasons (2010-14), The Summit League owns the nation's highest RPI gain (+9).
