South Dakota 84, Milwaukee 60
VERMILLION, S.D. (AP - Casey Kasperbauer hit seven 3-pointers to finish with 23 points, Tyler Larson chipped in 22 and South Dakota defeated Milwaukee 84-60 on Sunday.
Larson was 8 of 14 from the field, 6 of 6 from the free-throw line and had seven rebounds and four assists for the Coyotes (6-8). Kasperbauer hit all of South Dakota's 3-pointers, while James Hunter added 15 points and Brandon Bos had 10.
South Dakota, which shot 50.8 percent from the field, closed the first half on an 11-2 run sparked by two baskets from Larson. Kasperbauer added a pair of free throws and a 3-pointer to help South Dakota take a 10-point lead at the break.Kasperbauer hit six of his 3s in the second half as the Coyotes coasted the rest of the way.
Matt Tiby paced Milwaukee (5-9) with 15 points and 14 rebounds, Akeem Springs added 11 points and Cody Wichmann 10.
Oral Roberts 94, Haskell 42
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Korey Billbury had 20 points with a career-high 17 rebounds, Obi Emegano had 22 points with a career-high eight steals and Oral Roberts beat Haskell 94-42 on Sunday.
Oral Roberts (5-7) opened on a 15-2 run and never trailed. Bobby Word made three consecutive 3-pointers in the final minutes to help the Golden Eagles build their largest lead of 52 for the final margin.
Emegano's eight steals placed him third on the program's individual game list since 1972-73.
Brandon Conley added 12 points and Word finished with 11 for the Golden Eagles. Oral Roberts added a 17-2 run to a 27-point lead to go up 68-26 with 10:54.
Tsalidi Sequoyah and Stand Lovato scored 12 apiece to lead Haskell, which had 27 turnovers and was outrebounded 58-35.
Emegano and Billbury also topped 20 points together in Oral Roberts' 86-83 win over New Mexico State on Dec. 13.
Fort Wayne 80, Judson 46
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Joe Reed scored 18 points and IPFW easily handled Judson (Illinois) 80-46 on Sunday.
Jure Gunjina and Brent Calhoun each added a career-high 12 points off the bench for the Mastodons (7-5), who broke a two-game losing streak.
The Eagles trailed by five midway through the first half when the Mastodons scored 10 unanswered points to begin a 24-7 run to end the half ahead 44-22. IPFW shot 60.3 percent in the first half while the Eagles hit just 31 percent, including 1 of 10 from 3-point range. Reed had 12 first-half points and Gunjina 10 for IPFW.
IPFW led by as many as 42 points after a 20-2 run in the second half and finished the game shooting 57.4 percent. They had just six turnovers.
Judson (2-13), coached by former IPFW assistant Joel Cotton, had 19 turnovers and shot just 34.5 percent.
North Dakota State 83, Northland 59
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Lawrence Alexander scored 20 points and North Dakota State beat Division Northland 83-59 on Sunday.
A.J. Jacobson added 17 points, Dexter Werner 15 points and seven rebounds, Evan Wesenberg 12 points and Paul Miller 10 points and seven rebounds for North Dakota State (8-5). The Bison ran their home record to 6-0 in completing their nonconference schedule.
North Dakota State led 46-31 at halftime after shooting 16 of 24 for 67 percent. Northland made 14 of 27 shots for 51.5 percent in the half but the Bison were 8 of 9 from the free-throw line while Northland missed its one attempt. The Bison continued to build on their lead in the second half and finished at 60.4 percent, including 8 of 18 from beyond the arc.
The Lumberjacks (2-7) were led by Gerald Bates with 16 points and Tyrin Vann with 12.
No. 23 Northern Iowa 74, South Dakota State 63
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Nate Buss scored 14 points off the bench and 23rd-ranked Northern Iowa closed out non-conference play with a 74-63 Sunday win over South Dakota State.
Wes Washpun had 12 points and Seth Tuttle scored 11 for the Panthers (11-1), who got 45 points from their substitutes.
Northern Iowa took control with a 13-0 run late in the first half. The Panthers let the Jackrabbits close to within five with 6:11 left before putting them away late to improve to 6-0 at home.
George Marshall had 16 to lead South Dakota State (9-5), which dropped its second straight game against a Top 25 opponent. The Jackrabbits were beaten by No. 14 Utah 80-66 on Tuesday.
South Dakota State got its deficit down to 60-55 on back-to-back 3s by Reed Tellinghuisen. But backup forward Buss answered with a 3, and Tuttle found Wes Washpun underneath for a layup that pushed Northern Iowa back in front 65-55.
Paul Jesperson had 10 points for the Panthers, who shot 58 percent from the field.
