INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Marcellus Barksdale made a pair of go-ahead free throws, D.J. McCall scored on a tip-in with 20 seconds left and IUPUI held off Denver 52-49 on Saturday.
Barksdale finished with 10 points, Khufu Najee added nine and DavRon Williams had seven with seven rebounds and three blocks for the Jaguars (6-11, 2-1 Summit). IUPUI shot 46.3 percent from the field and had 13 second-chance points.
Cam Griffin led Denver (7-10, 1-3) with 15 points and Brett Olson chipped in 13. The Pioneers were held to 13 points on 5-of-22 shooting in the first half, but went 15 of 21 in the second.
Denver opened the second half on an 11-2 run after trailing by nine in the first, and it stayed tightly contested from there.
After McCall's tip-in, Olson sank two free throws with 10 seconds left, and Mason Archie II and Najee each split a pair to hang on.
South Dakota State 87, Omaha 68
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- George Marshall scored a career-high 25 points and South Dakota State ran away from Nebraska-Omaha 87-68 on Saturday.
Marshall was 10 of 18 from the floor and made 5 of 8 3-point attempts. Reed Tellinghuisen added 19 points, Deondre Parks had 18, and Cody Larson chipped in with 11 points and seven boards.
South Dakota State (11-7, 2-2 Summit League) led by one with 5:42 left in the first half but closed on a 12-5 run -- including Marshall's 3-pointer -- to lead 41-32 at the break.
The Jackrabbits used a 10-point run midway through the second half -- including Tellinghuisen's 3-pointer -- to push the lead to 21 and they cruised to the victory.
Tre'Shawn Thurman and Jake White led Omaha (7-9, 1-3) with 12 points apiece. Mike Rostampour had 11 points with 13 rebounds.
South Dakota 64, Fort Wayne 62
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) -- Tyler Larson scored 14 points on 5 of 12 shooting from the field to lead South Dakota to a 64-62 victory over IPFW on Saturday night.
Trailing 61-59 IPFW in the final 10 seconds, IPFW had an opportunity to tie the game when Isaiah McCray was fouled by South Dakota's Eric Robertson. However McCray would make just 1 of his 2 free throws, leaving the Mastodons still down one. After a foul by Mo Evans, Larson sank a pair of free throws, pushing the lead back to three to effectively close out the game for the Coyotes.
Casey Kasperbauer finished with 11 points for South Dakota (8-9, 2-1 Summit), which has now won five of its last six games. James Hunter added 10 points and six rebounds.
Steve Forbes led all scorers with 24 for IPFW (8-9, 1-3), which has lost four of five.
Oral Roberts 66, Western Illinois 57
MACOMB, Ill. (AP) -- Obi Emegano scored 28 points on Saturday to lead Oral Roberts to a 66-57 win over Western Illinois.
Senior Adrion Webber scored 11, Korey Billbury grabbed 10 rebounds, and the Golden Eagles (8-8, 2-1 Summit League) scored 28 free throws and won the rebound battle 39-35.
Oral Roberts led 11-2 after a 3-pointer by Aaron Young, but the Leathernecks tied it a 19 on a free throw by Brandon Conley. The Golden Eagles pulled to a 31-27 lead on a jumper by Emegano and led 33-27 at halftime.
Western Illinois rallied in the second half, pulling ahead 45-44 on a free throw by Tate Stensgaard, but Emegano hit a jumper to put Oral Roberts back on top 50-47 and they led 58-53 after Emegano's jumper with 2:30 to go. The Golden Eagles outscored the Leathernecks 8-4 down the stretch.
Covington led the Leathernecks (7-8, 2-2) with 18, Jamie Batish had 14 and Stensgaard 11.
