South Dakota 71, North Dakota State 67
VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — Casey Kasperbauer scored 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and South Dakota hung on for a 71-67 win over North Dakota State on Wednesday night.

Brandon Bos added 12 points, while Tyler Larson contributed 10 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds for South Dakota (9-9, 3-1 Summit League). Trey Norris also had 10 points for the Coyotes, who shot just 37.5 percent from the field on 56 attempts but held a commanding 24-6 advantage in made free throws.

North Dakota State (11-6, 3-1) reclaimed the lead late in the second half with a 7-0 run capped by a bucket from Lawrence Alexander that made it 61-60 with 3:15 to go. But after two more lead changes, South Dakota jumped ahead for good with Larson's layup that made it 65-63 with 1:01 left and held on down the stretch.

Alexander led North Dakota State with 20 points, Kory Brown added 15 and Carlin Dupree 12.

 

South Dakota State 68, IUPUI 53
BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — Reed Tellinghuisen scored 18 points and South Dakota State scored the first 15 points in beating IUPUI 68-53 on Wednesday night for the Jackrabbits' third straight victory.

George Marshall and Cody Larson added 15 points apiece as the Jackrabbits (12-7, 3-2 Summit League) handed coach Scott Nagy a victory in his 600th game as SDSU coach. The victory was the 10th straight over IUPUI.

Elijah Ray scored 12 points and Khufu Najee 11 for the Jaguars (6-12, 2-2).

The Jackrabbits shot 42.5 percent to the Jaguars' 37.5 and made six 3-pointers, twice as many as IUPUI. SDSU also had a 35-28 rebounding edge.

The Jackrabbits led by 10 at halftime before the Jaguars closed to within three with 13:37 left. Tellinghuisen's layup and two free throws put South Dakota State up by 12 with 6:25 left and the lead would stay in double figures.

Oral Roberts 102, Omaha 86
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Korey Billbury scored a career-high 34 points and Oral Roberts broke the century mark for the first time since 2011 with a 102-86 victory over Omaha on Wednesday night.

Billbury shot 13 of 19 from the field and dished out five assists. Obi Emegano had 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Bobby Word had 12 points and Jabbar Singleton chipped in 10 for Oral Roberts (9-8, 3-1 Summit League), which made 36 of 62 field goals and 20 of 22 from the line.

Oral Roberts led 53-43 at the break, and stretched it to 77-57 on Billbury's layup with 13:39 remaining. The Golden Eagles have won five of their last six games.

CJ Carter had 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting to lead Nebraska-Omaha (7-10, 1-4). Mike Rostampour added 12 points and Marcus Tyus 11 for the Mavericks, who have lost four straight.

Denver 68, Western Illinois 54
DENVER (AP) - Cam Griffin scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Denver to a 68-54 win over Western Illinois on Wednesday night.

Jalen Love tallied 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting for the Pioneers (8-10, 2/3 Summit). Nate Engesser had a career-high six assists. Denver shot 56.5 percent from the field, despite going just 3 of 13 (23.1 percent) from beyond the 3-point line, to end a three game losing skid.

Garret Covington hit two 3s and had 18 points, five rebounds and five steals for the Leathernecks (7-9, 2-3). Jamie Batish had nine points, all coming from behind the 3-point line. Western Illinois shot just 34.9 percent from the field.

After Jamie Batish hit a 3-pointer to give Western Illinois a one-point lead in the opening moments of the second half, Denver scored 27 of the next 41 points to take a 12-point lead.
