South Dakota 84, Avila 60
VERMILLION, S.D. (goyotes.com) — Casey Kasperbauer made five 3-pointers and Tre Burnette had 10 points and 11 rebounds as South Dakota beat Avila 84-60 in a non-conference game inside the DakotaDome Tuesday. It was the first-ever matchup between the two programs.
The win gets the Coyotes (14-14) back to .500 for the third time this season. It was the start of a four-game homestand for South Dakota which hosts IUPUI Saturday at 2 p.m.
Tyler Larson scored 12 points and Brandon Bos added 10 for the Coyotes, who had all 12 roster-eligible players score on the night. South Dakota out-rebounded its undersized opponent 49-17 and turned in 31 second-chance points. The Coyotes had more offensive rebounds (21) than Avila had total rebounds (17).
