North Dakota State 66, Fort Wayne 62

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Lawrence Alexander nailed 5 of 9 from long range to finish with 10 of 19 shooting from the field and 27 points as North Dakota State held on to beat Fort Wayne 66-62 on Saturday.

IPFW took its first lead, 45-42, with 10:21 left. Kory Brown answered for the Bison when he got inside for a layup to start a 16-4 run for a 58-49 lead with 3:57 left. IPFW's Joe Edwards scored six straight to close to 62-59 with 1:39 remaining, but Carlin Dupree made four consecutive free throws to seal the win.

A.J. Jacobson had 16 points and Dupree added 11 for North Dakota State (20-8, 12-3 Summit League), which has won seven of its last eight and remains tied for first with South Dakota State.

Edwards made 4 of 7 from beyond the arc to total 20 points and lead IPFW (15-12, 8-6), which had won eight straight.

South Dakota 77, IUPUI 62

VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) — Tyler Larson scored 21 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead South Dakota to a 77-62 win over IUPUI on Saturday.

Tre Burnette added 12 points and six steals and Brandon Bos and Trey Norris 11 points each for the Coyotes (15-14, 8-6 Summit), who extended their winning streak to four. Larson's double-double was his 10th this season.

Norris scored seven points on one possession to give the Coyotes a 63-53 lead with 10 minutes to go. He scored on a fast break, was intentionally fouled and made both free throws, then hit a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession.

Marcellus Barksdale scored 21 points to lead the Jaguars (9-19, 5-9). Mason Archie II added 18.

IUPUI shot 53.3 percent but had 17 turnovers to the Coyotes' seven.

The Coyotes shot 42.4 percent, but made 10 3-pointers and had a 33-27 rebounding edge, including a 17-4 on the offensive boards.

South Dakota State 81, Oral Roberts 52

BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — George Marshall made 5 of 9 from 3-point range and scored 17 points and Cody Larson added 15 to lead South Dakota State to an 81-52 Summit League victory over Oral Roberts on Saturday night.

South Dakota State (21-8, 12-3) finished its home schedule with a 13-0 record. The Jackrabbits have 17 consecutive home victories dating to last season.

SDSU is tied with North Dakota State for first in the Summit League.

Deondre Parks had 13 points for the Jackrabbits, who have won 12 of their last 13 games.

SDSU blew out to an early lead, was up 45-22 at the break and pushed that to a 66-37 advantage midway of the second half.

The Jackrabbits made 29 of 57 from the field while limiting ORU to 20-of-50 shooting. SDSU also won the rebounding battle 43-27.

Albert Owens was the only player in double figures (18) for ORU (15-13, 8-6).

Denver 59, Western Illinois 46

MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Cam Griffin and Nate Engesser scored 14 points apiece and Denver beat Western Illinois 59-46 on Saturday night.

Marcus Byrd added 10 points for the Pioneers (11-16, 5-9 Summit). Brett Olson scored nine points and had two 3-pointers, lifting him into fourth place all-time at Denver with 256 career 3s.

Denver broke a three-game losing streak while the Leathernecks (8-17, 3-11) dropped their sixth straight.

Jalen Chapman and J.C. Fuller each scored 10 points for Western Illinois with Garret Covington grabbing 10 rebounds, all on the defensive glass.

Denver led 24-20 at halftime and would go up by as many as 16 on three occasions in the second half, the final time with 2:26 left in the game.

The Pioneers swept the season series. They beat the Leathernecks 68-54 in their Jan. 14 game in Denver.
