TULSA, Okla. (oruathletics.com) – As Selection Sunday comes to an end, the Oral Roberts men's basketball team has learned that it will play in the postseason for the fourth time in the last five years as the Golden Eagles have earned a spot in the College Basketball Invitational Tournament.

ORU will host UC Santa Barbara on Wednesday, March 18 in the first round of the 16-team tournament.

The Golden Eagles have an 18-14 record and finished third in the Summit League with a 10-6 conference record. The invitation marks the first time ORU has played in the CBI, and the fourth different postseason tournament at the NCAA Division I level (NCAA, NIT, CIT, CBI). The Golden Eagles are led by first team all-league, and Summit League All-Tournament selection Obi Emegano.

UC Santa Barbara has a 19-13 record with an 11-5 record in Big West play. The Gauchos fell in overtime in the Big West semifinals to eventual champion UC Irvine after finishing second in the conference during the regular season. Alan Williams and Michael Bryson were each named first team All-Big West, while Gabe Vincent was the Big West Freshman of the Year.

ORU made its last postseason appearance in 2012-13, winning its first two games of the tournament against UT Arlington and UC Irvine, respectively before bowing out with an 83-74 loss at Weber State.
