ELMHURST, Ill. – Omaha earns the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Summit League Men's Soccer Championship after sharing the regular season title with Denver. Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois join DU and UNO in the tournament field.
The 2016 Summit League Men's Soccer Championship will be contested Nov. 10 and 12 at CIBER Field in Denver, Colo. The semifinal games will be broadcasted by Altitude Sports and Entertainment Rocky Mountain and aired on Altitude (semifinal No. 1) and Altitude 2 (semifinal No. 2). All matches will be streamed free of charge on thesummitleague.org.
Thursday's first match pits top seeded Omaha (9-4-4, 5-0-1 SL) against No. 4 Eastern Illinois (5-11-1, 2-4-0 SL) at 1 p.m. MT. In the day's second match, host and No. 2 seed Denver (15-0-3, 5-0-1 SL) faces No. 3 Western Illinois (8-9-1, 3-3-0 SL) at 4 p.m. MT.
The winners of Thursday's matches will play in Saturday's championship match at 1 p.m. MT with the victor earning an automatic bid to the NCAA College Cup.
The Mavericks claimed the top seed over the Pioneers by virtue of a having a higher goal differential in league contests (+8 to +7). Eastern Illinois earned the No. 4 seed over Fort Wayne and Oral Roberts by defeating Western Illinois on Oct. 29.
The Mavericks qualified for The Summit League Tournament for the second consecutive year and first No. 1 seed in program history. The Pioneers, ranked sixth in the nation and the defending tournament champion, are making their fourth-straight appearance, while the Fighting Leathernecks, winners of six championship titles, will be the No. 3 seed for the fourth time in the last six years. Meanwhile, the Panthers will be making their second appearance in the league tournament with the first coming back in 1994.

1 p.m. - Match One: (1) Omaha vs. (4) Eastern Illinois
4 p.m. - Match Two: (2) Denver vs. (3) Western Illinois
Saturday, Nov. 12
1 p.m. – Championship Match: Winner Match 1 vs. Winner Match 2
