UNO’s Rinderknecht, WIU’s Pacheco Named #SummitMSOC Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois forward Fernando Pacheco was named Summit League Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Omaha defender Seth Rinderknecht garnered the Defensive Player of the Week award for their performances Sept. 11-17.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Fernando Pacheco, Western Illinois

  • Collected his first career Offensive Player of the Week award
  • Tallied a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the Fighting Leathernecks' 3-2 win at Kansas City Saturday
  • With the victory, WIU handed UMKC its first loss of the season

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

  • Earned his first career Defensive Player of the Week honor
  • Anchored a defensive backline that allowed just two goals in two matches at the UVU Tournament falling to Northern Illinois (1-0) and defeating No. 27 Utah Valley (3-1)
  • Named to the UVU All-Tournament Team
