SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League kicks off week No. 3 of the men's soccer season on Friday with a host of matches scheduled throughout the weekend. For the first time this year, all six league members will be in action between Friday and Saturday.   

 

Around The League

• Purdue Fort Wayne has put on an offensive clinic through its four matches this season. The Mastadons have scored 14 goals, which is the best total in the NCAA so far
• Purdue Fort Wayne also ranks second in the country in goals per match average at 3.50 per match
• Denver is tied for second in the NCAA in scoring offense with an average of 2.67 goals per match
• The Pioneers are one of 23 teams in the country that have a perfect record
• DU has climbed to No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and No. 2 in the Top Drawer Soccer Poll
• Matthew Lieshout of Purdue Fort Wayne, this week's offensive player of the week in The Summit League, ranks third nationally in goals scored with five in four matches
• Also ranked in the top 20 for goals scored is Blake Cearns of Purdue Fort Wayne who has scored three goals
• Denver forward Andre Shinyashiki's seven points in his opening match is ranked second in the NCAA for points in a match
• For the second straight week, Denver landed a player on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week in Moshe Perez
• Through two weeks of the regular season, The Summit League has a combined record of 9-9-2
