SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – With just one month remaining in The Summit League men's soccer season, teams are jockeying for position in the standings. With most teams having played at least two games thus far, there are four teams separated by less than three points. Things are going to heat up once again this weekend with four teams competing against a Summit League foe.

 

Around The League

• With a month left in the season, Eastern Illinois and Denver are both undefeated in league play

• Eastern Illinois and Omaha are separated by just one point for second and third place in the standings

• Oral Roberts and Western Illinois are tied for fourth in the league standings with one point. Purdue Fort Wayne is the only team without a point

• Denver earned its first No. 1 ranking in program history when Top Drawer Soccer put them on top of the top 25 poll

• The Summit League holds a conference RPI of 10 out of 24 conferences

• Denver leads the way in RPI at 12. The Pioneers are followed by Purdue Fort Wayne (62), Omaha (74), Oral Roberts (122), Eastern Illinois (151) and Western Illinois (173)

• Denver senior forward Andre Shinyashiki leads the nation in multiple statistical categories entering the week: total goals (21), total points (44), goals per game (1.62), points per game (3.38), shots per game (5.23) and game-winning goals (8)

• Purdue Fort Wayne senior midfielder Matthew Lieshout is ranked 13th nationally in goals scored with nine

• Oral Roberts sophomore forward Dante Brigida is ranked inside the top 50 in goals scored with six

• Eastern Illinois sophomore Jonathan Burke and Denver senior Nick Gardner are tied for 39th nationally in shutouts with four

• Purdue Fort Wayne freshman Tor Erik Larsen is ranked second in the country in total saves with 72. Oral Roberts freshman Miles Motakef is ranked 31st with 47 saves while Burke is ranked 39th with 45 saves
