SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The regular season is nearing its end and all six Summit League members are making that final push to be in the top four of the standings and earn a spot in the 2018 Summit League men's soccer championship in Denver Nov. 6-8. With two conference matches remaining and only five points separating five teams, things are bound to heat up in the final two weeks of the regular season.

 

Around The League

• Purdue Fort Wayne continues to play solid soccer with three consecutive wins while also moving into the top four of The Summit League standings

• With 10 points in league play, and only two conference matches remaining, Denver has clinched a spot in the 2018 Summit League Championship

• The final three spots in The Summit League Championship are still up for grabs. Positions two through six are only separated by five points with six points still remaining

• Omaha sits in second with six points followed by Eastern Illinois (five points), Purdue Fort Wayne (three points), Oral Roberts (two points) and Western Illinois (one point)

• Denver got back to its winning ways with two wins last week. In the Pioneers win over Saint Louis, Andre Shinyashiki added another multi-goal match to his season total. He has now scored multiple goals in eight matches this season

• The Summit League has a current RPI of 15 of 23 NCAA conferences

• Denver leads the league in RPI at 28. They are followed by Purdue Fort Wayne (60), Omaha (83), Oral Roberts (154), Eastern Illinois (165) and Western Illinois (173)

• Shinyashiki leads the NCAA in goals scored (24), total points (51), goals per game (1.50), points per game (3.19), shots on goal per game (3.19) and game-winning goals (9)

• Oral Roberts freshman goalkeeper Miles Motakef ranks fifth in the country in saves per game at 5.64

• Purdue Fort Wayne's Tor Erik Laren leads the league in total saves with 81
