SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League Men's Soccer Championship will get underway on Thursday, Nov. 7 in Denver, Colo. The first semifinal will begin at 1 p.m. (MT) and feature No. 1 Denver vs No. 4 Eastern Illinois. The second semifinal will be played at 4 p.m. (MT) and feature No. 2 Omaha vs No. 3 Purdue Fort Wayne.

 

Around The League

• Denver won the regular season title outright for the second-straight season and won at least a share of the last six

• The Pioneers earn the No. 1 seed in the championship with Omaha earn the second seed, Purdue Fort Wayne the three seed and Eastern Illinois the four seed

• Denver and Eastern Illinois will meet in the semifinals of the Summit League Championship for the second consecutive season. The Pioneers defeats the Panthers 1-0 last year

• Omaha and Purdue Fort Wayne will be meeting for the first time in post season play

• Since Denver won the regular season title, they have earned the right to host the 2019 men's soccer championship

• Denver senior forward Andre Shinyashiki recorded his fifth hat trick of the season against Oral Roberts on Saturday. The senior increased his NCAA goals lead to 27 and points lead to 58

• Shinyashiki set new Summit Lead single-season records in goals (27), points (58) and game-winning goals (10). He currently leads in goals per game average and points per game average

• Denver, Omaha and Eastern Illinois are making their third straight championship appearance

• Omaha is making their fourth straight appearance in the championship. The Mavericks have appeared in every championship since being eligible for post season play
