SDSU’s Morse, NDSU’s Sertic and WIU’s Ira Earn Weekly #SummitSB Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State catcher Brittney Morse collected her second-career Summit League Player of the Week award, while North Dakota State pitcher Jacquelyn Sertic and Western Illinois pitcher Emily Ira secured the league's Pitcher of the Week titles. The three earned the awards for their performances during the week of April 2 – April 8.

Sr. // C/UT // Houston, Texas

  • Earned her second-career Player of the Week accolade, first of this season
  • Hit .600 with an on-base percentage of .600 and a slugging percentage of .900
  • Recorded eight RBI and hit her sixth home run of the season
  • Had two multi-hit and multi-RBI performances in series against South Dakota
  • Went 2-for-3 with three RBI in the game one win over the Coyotes (5-4)
  • In the rubber match, went 3-for-4 and tallied five RBI to lead the Jacks to a 7-0 win
  • Leads the league in RBI (42) and ranks second in batting average (.402)

  • Reached double-figure strikeouts for the 11th time this season, 29th time in her career
  • Leads the league in ERA (1.95), wins (16) and strikeouts (189)

  • Collected her seventh-career Pitcher of the Week honor, second this season
  • Went 2-0 in two complete games against Fort Wayne
  • Struck out 12 in 14 innings pitched with a 1.50 ERA
  • Allowed only six hits and three runs
  • Ranks second in the league in strikeouts (115)
