#SummitMBB and #SummitWBB “18 in 9” Series Begins Thursday

ELMHURST, Ill. – As the countdown to the 2014-15 men's and women's basketball seasons begin, The Summit League will kickoff its "18 in 9" series Thursday, Oct. 30. The "18 in 9" series is a look at all 18 Summit League men's and women's teams over a nine-day span on www.thesummitleague.org.

Twice each weekday from Oct. 30 through Nov. 12, a different Summit League team will be profiled. One men's team and one women's team will run daily during that span.

Following the run of team profiles, The Summit League's men's and women's basketball weekly notebooks will debut on Nov. 12 and 13 ahead of the season tip-off on Nov. 14.

ABOUT SUMMIT LEAGUE MEN'S BASKETBALL
In its fourth decade of Division I athletics, The Summit League features men's basketball teams from nine member institutions: Denver, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Western Illinois. Over the past five seasons (2010-14), The Summit League owns the nation's highest RPI gain (+9). In 2013-14, The Summit League had three teams advance in national postseason tournaments, highlighted by an NCAA Tournament Round of 64 victory, recorded its third consecutive top-20 RPI finish, achieved an all-time high USA Today Sagarin rating, and saw a record 10 former players on NBA and D-League rosters.
