POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (gojacks.com) -- Freshman Macy Miller scored a team-high 18 points despite the South Dakota State women's basketball team losing 82-64 Sunday at Marist College in a nonconference game in front of 1,470 fans.

Miller was 7 of 12 from the field and grabbed 8 rebounds for the Jackrabbits (8-4). Freshman Ellie Thompson scored 12 points and had 7 rebounds off the bench. Senior Mariah Clarin grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds to go with 8 points.

IUPUI 62, Evansville 50 | Recap
INDIANAPOLIS (iupuijags.com) -- Akilah Sims scored 13 of her career-high 20 points in the second half leading the IUPUI women's basketball team to a 62-50 victory over the visiting Purple Aces of Evansville Sunday afternoon at The Jungle.

Joining Sims in double figures were Nevena Markovic and Kelsi Byrd, who added 14 points and 12 points, respectively, and the trio of Sims, Markovic and Byrd shot 70.8 percent (17-of-24) from the floor helping IUPUI finish the game at a 52.3 percent clip. All 12 of Byrd's points came from behind-the-arc, where she finished 4-of-6.

Marquette 65, Western Illinois 57 | Recap
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (goleathernecks.com) -- The Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks faced Marquette in nonconference action Sunday (Dec. 21) afternoon inside the Al McGuire Center. The Golden Eagles used a key 15-0 run in the second half to pull away from the Leathernecks, 65-57.

Ashley Luke, the reigning Summit League 'Player of the Week', recorded her third straight double-double (fourth this season) as she paced the Purple and Gold with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

South Dakota 86, North Dakota 81 | Recap
VERMILLION, S.D. (goyotes.com) -- Raeshel Contreras scored a career-high 29 points as the South Dakota women's basketball team overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to top North Dakota 86-81 in the DakotaDome on Sunday afternoon. It was USD's seventh straight win.

The Coyotes (9-2) flipped the script on last season's matchup in Grand Forks when North Dakota (8-4) overcame a nine-point deficit to top USD 65-61. South Dakota trailed 46-37 at halftime on Sunday before outscoring UND 49-35 in the second half.

Grand Canyon 69, North Dakota State 54 | Recap
PHOENIX (gobison.com) -- The North Dakota State women's basketball team (4-8) fell at Grand Canyon University (4-7), 69-54, on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 21, inside GCU Arena.

Senior guard Brooke LeMar scored 12 points in the second half to finish with a team-high 14, and junior forward Holly Johnson netted 13 points in the second stanza to also finish in double figures for the Bison. Senior forward Liz Keena pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds to pace NDSU on the boards.

UC Irving 63, Denver 55 | Recap

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (denverpioneers.com) -- The University of Denver women's basketball team didn't have enough in the second half to hold onto their 37-29 halftime lead, falling to UC Irvine on Sunday afternoon on the final day of the BTI Invitational at Purdue University. Denver (2-11) was defeated by UC Irvine (2-11) 63-55 at Mackey Arena.

The Pioneers were led by sophomore forward Alecia Espinoza who recorded her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Johnston also scored 11points to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Bradley, started the game after missing a game and coming off the bench against Purdue, chipped in eight points and dished out six assists. Alt had a solid game off the bench, putting in eight points and nine rebounds.
