ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota's Raeshel Contreras was named The Summit League's Player of the Week for her performances Dec. 15-21.

Contreras collects her second Player of the Week award this season after guiding South Dakota to a pair of victories last week. The senior guard led the Coyotes with a career-high 29 points on 9-of-16 shooting with four steals and three assists in a win over North Dakota, who came into the game receiving votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll with an 8-3 record. She added 19 points with six rebounds and nine assists in a win over St. Mary (Kan.). For the week, Contreras averaged 24 points, six assists, five steals and 3.5 rebounds per contest. She shot 52 percent (16-of-31) from the field, 50 percent (8-of-16) from downtown and was perfect at the free throw line (8-of-8) with a 2.4 assist-to-turnover ratio. South Dakota currently has a league-best seven-game winning streak.
