DENVER (denverpioneers.com) -- The University of Denver women's basketball team outfought the North Dakota State University Bison down the stretch on Sunday afternoon at Magness Arena and won their fifth straight home game. Denver (6-12, 3-1) overcame a 9-point halftime deficit and handed North Dakota State (7-9, 3-1) their first league loss of the season, 75-73.
The second half was a physical battle as the Pioneers closed the Bison's lead to five points by going on a 13-9 run during the first 4:31. Denver shot 50 percent (16-of-32) from the field in the second half. Sophomore Jacqlyn Poss made one of the plays of the game as she hit a nine-foot jumper and drew a foul. She converted the 3-point play and gave the Pioneers their first lead of the second half, 65-64 with 4:34 remaining. Poss would later hit a huge 3-pointer to tie the game at 68 with 2:16 left in the game. She finished with 11 points and four rebounds off the bench for Denver.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (gomastodons.com) -- Four different IPFW women's basketball players scored in double-digits as the Mastodons overcame a nine-point first half deficit to defeat Oral Roberts 73-63. IPFW picks up its first Summit League victory of the season to improve to 7-10 overall and 1-3 in league play.
Defensively, the 'Dons forced a season-high 26 turnovers, 16 in the second half alone, converting them into 25 points.
Haley Seibert led all players with 21 points and three steals. She connected on 6-of-12 from the field while grabbing four rebounds. Keanna Gary was 6-of-11 shooting the ball to finish the night with 17 points and tied for a team-high with six rebounds.

INDIANAPOLIS (iupuijags.com) -- Nevena Markovic's jump shot from the right wing with 8.7 seconds to play gave the Jags the one-point lead and on the other end Mikale Rogers secured the defensive rebound off South Dakota State's last-second shot to secure the 68-67 win for the Jaguars over the Jackrabbits Sunday afternoon at The Jungle.
The win improved to the Jags to 7-9 overall and 2-1 in the Summit League, while South Dakota State fell to 11-6 overall and 2-2 in the conference. The win also is the fourth in the last five tries against the Jackrabbits, which includes three straight at The Jungle.
