Sims, Luke Honored as #SummitWBB Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – IUPUI's Akilah Sims and Western Illinois' Ashley Luke were named The Summit League Players of the Week for their performances Feb. 16-22.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Akilah Sims, IUPUI

Sims earns her second Player of the Week award this season after leading IUPUI to a pair of league victories. The junior forward scored a career-high 30 points in just 27 minutes with six rebounds and two steals in Saturday's win over Oral Roberts. She added 14 points with five rebounds on Thursday against North Dakota State. For the week, Sims averaged 22 points, five rebounds and one steal, block and assist per contest. She shot 64 percent (16-of-25) from the field and was perfect (11-of-11) at the line.

Ashley Luke, Western Illinois
Jr. // F // Oak Creek, Wis.

Luke records her fifth Player of the Week honor this season and 11th of her career after averaging a double-double last week. She scored 22 points with 14 rebounds, nine being offensive, and two assists in a loss to Oral Roberts on Thursday. She followed that performance with a 23-point, 16-rebound outing in Saturday's win over Denver. The junior forward also added six assists and four steals against the Pioneers. For the week, Luke averaged 22.5 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, 2.5 steals and one block per game with a 2.7 assist-to-turnover ratio. She shot 53 percent (16-of-30) from the field and leads the nation with 135 offensive rebounds this season.
