OMAHA, Neb. (goleathernecks.com) -- Western Illinois surged past Omaha 90-51 Saturday afternoon (Jan. 13) inside Baxter Arena for its third Summit League win of the season.
Led by the game-high 29 points and five three-pointers from Emily Clemens, the Leathernecks improve to 13-5 overall and 3-1 in league play, while the Mavericks fall to 8-8 and 0-4 in Summit League action.
Taylor Higginbotham followed with her seventh double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Morgan Blumer contributed with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Michelle Farrow rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points and a career-high eight rebounds and six assists.
VERMILLION, S.D. (goyotes.com) -- South Dakota freshman guard Chloe Lamb scored a career high 16 points to lead the Coyotes in an 85-43 rout of Fort Wayne on Saturday afternoon inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
South Dakota (13-5, 4-0 Summit) earns its seventh-straight victory on the season and is one of two teams that remain undefeated in Summit League play.
TULSA, Okla. (gojacks.com) -- The South Dakota State women's basketball team remained undefeated with a 77-70 win at Oral Roberts in a Summit League game Saturday afternoon in front of 1,158 fans at the Mabee Center.
The Jackrabbits, now 14-4 overall and 4-0 in league play, were led by Macy Miller's game- and season-high 26 points. The junior was 11 of 18 from the field and collected seven rebounds and four assists. Classmate Madison Guebert netted 17 points and had three 3-pointers. Senior Alexis Alexander had 12 points, a career- and game-high eight rebounds and four assists.
Oral Roberts, now 11-7 and 3-2, was led by Faith Ihim's 24 points. Maya Mayberry added 16 points and Maria Martianez 15 points.
DENVER (denverpioneers.com) -- The University of Denver women's basketball team started slow against North Dakota State on Saturday, but the Pioneer offense got things rolling, routing the Bison, 98-79.
DU improves to 11-8 and 2-2 in the Summit League, while NDSU falls to 7-11 and 0-4 in the Summit.
Denver as a team shot 42.1 percent from both the field (32-for-76) and behind the arc (16-for-38). DU's 16 3-pointers are a season-high, beating the 15 they dropped against Chadron State.
The squad grabbed 46 total rebounds, handed out 20 assists and forced 18 turnovers from the Bison. Gritt led the team in rebounds with eight, while Ciera Morgan carded six assists.
