SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota midfielder Taryn Labree and Purdue Fort Wayne goalkeeper Haley Lydon became the latest student-athletes to capture Summit League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week accolades following the last batch of non-conference matches for league members.
Labree scored both goals for the Coyotes in a 2-0 win over New Mexico State, allowing South Dakota to exceed its win total from a year ago. She added an assist in the 3-2 loss to Kansas City on Sunday, giving her five points on the week.
Lydon helped Purdue Fort Wayne secure its second shutout of the season, stopping all eight shots she faced in a 5-0 win over Chicago State. This is the first career weekly honor for Lydon, who is the second Mastodon in the last three weeks to capture the defensive honor.
