DENVER – Top-seeded Denver cruised past No. 4 seed Western Illinois, 4-0, to open semifinal play at The Summit League Women's Tennis Championship.

The Pioneers jumped ahead 1-0 with the doubles point. The No. 3 tandem of Camille Verden-Anderson and Summit League Player of the Year Bianca Mok posted a 6-1 victory before the Summit League Newcomer of the Year Hada Chang and Anna Riedmiller recorded the same score at No. 3.

Mok scored a straight-set (1 and 1) win at No. 2 singles before Julia O'Loughlin, the nation's No. 57 ranked singles player by the ITA, won 2 and 0 at the No. 1 position to put DU on the brink of victory.

Arisha Ladhani posted the clinching win, 1 and 1, at the No. 4 spot.  

Turning Point

Mok made quick work at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 win to put Denver up 2-0.

Inside The Box Score

  • Denver outscored WIU 12-2 in the two doubles matches.

DENVER – No. 3 seed South Dakota rallied for a 4-2 victory over No. 2 seed Omaha in semifinal play at The Summit League Women's Tennis Championship. The Coyotes will meet top-seeded Denver in Saturday's title match.

Omaha took a 1-0 lead by claiming the doubles point. Savanna Crowell and Natalie Lorentz scored a 6-2 win at No. 2 followed by a 6-3 victory at No. 1 by Michelle Lo and Janelle Wilson.

South Dakota answered and even the score behind a straight-set singles victory by Luana Stanciu (2 and 2) at No. 5. The Coyotes then took the lead, 2-1, with a win by Nanette Nylund (2 and 3) at No. 6.

The Mavericks evened the score at two when Natalie Lorentz posted a 2 and 3 victory at No. 3.

USD regained the advantage at 3-2 on a 7-6, 6-0 triumph by Habiba Aly at No. 3. Barbora Kollarova notched the clinching win (2 and 4) at the No. 2.

Turning Point

USD broke a 2-2 tie and regained momentum with a 7-6, 6-0 win by Aly at No. 3.
