SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –After serving Omaha only its second loss of Summit League play, Purdue Fort Wayne takes both offensive and defensive player of the week awards. Senior outside hitter Nicole Rightnowar was named the offensive player of the week, while sophomore middle hitter Sydney Boerst took the defensive player of the week.
The duo helped guide the Mastodons to overcome a 2-0 deficit to beat Omaha 3-2 and capture a 3-1 win over Western Illinois. Rightnowar recorded a career-high 26 kills in the victory over Omaha and 14 kills against Western Illinois. The senior finished the weekend averaging above her season average in both kills and blocks. She ended the weekend with 40 kills (4.44 kills per set), a .198 average hitting percentage, 28 digs (3.11 digs per set) and seven total blocks.
On the defensive end for the Mastodons, Boerst tallied a season-high eight blocks against Omaha and four total blocks against Western Illinois. Her 12 total blocks (1.33 blocks per set) this weekend averaged above her season average. Boerst's stat line also included 26 kills (2.89 kills per set), a .477 average hitting percentage, one service ace and four digs.

- Recorded a .640 average hitting percentage, which places sixth-best in program history with 20 attempts against WIU
