SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –Purdue Fort Wayne sophomore Sydney Boerst and senior Elizabeth Britner earned this week's Summit League Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week accolades, respectively, after guiding the Mastodons to a 2-0 record in league play.
Boerst claimed the offensive player of the week title after averaging 4.14 kills per set and logging a .578 hitting percentage on the week. She led the Mastodons in both matches in kills, tallying 13 in the 3-0 victory over North Dakota and 16 in the 3-1 win over North Dakota State. Boerst finished the week with 29 kills while adding seven total blocks (1.00 block per set).
Britner took home the defensive player of the week award after averaging 5.86 digs per set, which was 2.1 digs per set over her season average entering the week. She led the Mastodons in digs for both matches by recording 21 against UND and 20 in the win over NDSU. Britner ended the week with 41 digs, four assists and one service ace.
