#SummitXC Academic All-League Teams Announced

ELMHURST, Ill. – Ten Summit League cross country student-athletes, five male and five female, were selected to the 2016 Academic All-League Team as voted by a panel of Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors of the league's member institutions. Student-athletes were chosen for the honor based on their academic and athletic performances this season. South Dakota State led the way with five total selections, including three women's honorees.

Joel Reichow, who received the honor for the second consecutive season, and Brendan Sage represent the Jackrabbits on the men's team and are joined by Western Illinois' Grant Kaiser, Summit League champion Robert Murphy of IUPUI, and North Dakota State's Elliott Stone.

IUPUI's Zoey Johnson, who earned her second straight award, along with SDSU's trio of Emily Berzonsky, Rachel King, runner-up at the 2016 Summit League Championship, and Halie Mechels, and South Dakota's Erin Wetzstein comprised the squad.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
