All five baseball teams are in action this weekend … Omaha wraps-up the Snowbird Classic Tournament with games against Chicago State, Villanova and Western Michigan … Fort Wayne and South Dakota State have three-game sets at UALR and UTSA, respectively … Meanwhile, North Dakota State and Western Illinois have four-game series’ at Murray State and Evansville.
Basketball / Women’s
The Summit League men’s and women’s basketball concludes the regular season this weekend … The men’s and women’s weekly notebooks and the men’s and women’s resource pages supply all the necessary league info to follow the season … Single-session tickets for the 2014 Summit League Basketball Championships are now on sale … Click here for more information.
On the men’s side, a pair of teams are in action this week … Denver is at the Del Walker Intercollegiate while Omaha is participating in the Sacramento State Invitational … On the women’s side, IUPUI is at the Red Rocks Invitational while Fort Wayne travels to Murray, Ky., for the Time Warner Invitational … Denver’s Tonje Daffinrud is ranked No. 31 in this week’s Golfstat/Sagarin individual rankings, while, as a time, the Pioneers are ranked No. 46.
Five league teams are in action this weekend, all in tournament play … Highlighting the schedule is Omaha facing No. 23/23 Notre Dame on Sunday at the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic in Orlando, Fla.
With the conclusion of the 2014 Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships, a combined 86 student-athletes, 42 men and 44 women, were named to the Swimming and Diving All-League teams and honored for finishing in the top-three of each event at the championships … Denver is the lone team in action this weekend and hosts the Colorado Senior Meet at the El Pomar Natatorium on Saturday.
Tennis / Women’s
This week’s ITA polls have Denver’s men at No. 57 and the women at No. 70 … Denver’s Henry Craig is ranked No. 101 in singles while the Pioneers’ doubles tandem of Aidan Talcott and Diogo Rocha is ranked No. 51.
Track & Field
All seven league teams are competing in The Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at the IPFW Athletics Center Fieldhouse in Fort Wayne, Ind. ... A pair of women’s teams enter the championships ranked in the USTFCCCA Top-15 Regional rankings, North Dakota State is ranked seventh and South Dakota is 11th in the Midwest Region … The Coyote women’s squad is ranked No. 16 in the latest USTFCCCA National Top-25 rankings … As a league, the women are ranked 10th in the USTFCCCA Conference Index rankings … Summit Leaguers have combined for six NCAA top-30 times/marks, including four top-10 performances … South Dakota’s Emily Grove leads the nation in the pole vault (14’9.5”/4.51m) while teammate Bethany Firsick is tied for ninth (14’1.75”/4.31m) … Also for the Coyotes, Megan Glisar is tied for third in the high jump (6’0.75”/1.85m) … On the men’s side, North Dakota State’s Andy Lillejord is sixth in the country in the heptathlon (5,628 points).
