Freshman Isaac Coffey hurled a five-hit shutout to lead Oral Roberts to the 2019 #SummitBSB Championship title game.

TULSA, Okla. – Third-seeded Oral Roberts will be in a familiar spot on Saturday thanks to a 4-0 shutout of No. 2 seed South Dakota State in an elimination game Friday afternoon at J.L. Johnson Stadium. The Golden Eagles will play top-seeded Omaha in the 2019 #SummitBSB Championship title game at 11 a.m. CT and need to beat the Mavericks twice to win their 20th postseason crown.

Oral Roberts got a single run in the second and third innings to stake Isaac Coffey to a 2-0 lead and that would be all the freshman would need. Both of those run-scoring hits came with two outs as Blake Hall delivered an RBI single in the second and Riley Keizor added an RBI double in the third. The Golden Eagles' catcher led the team with three hits.

The freshman right-hander retired 13 straight at one point of the contest and scattered five hits to register his first career shutout. Coffey also notched a career-high nine strikeouts without walking a batter.

SDSU starter Ryan Froom kept his team in the game, giving up only those two early runs and seven hits going into the ninth when the Golden Eagles added a pair of unearned insurance runs to double their advantage.

SDSU's best chance to score came in the sixth after a leadoff single by Drew Beazley, but he was thrown out at the plate by Trevor McCutchin for the final out after Gus Steiger blooped a two-out single into right. He had two of the Jacks' five hits.
