Oakland 88, South Dakota State 83
ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) - Travis Bader scored 31 points, making 9 of 16 from 3-point range, and Oakland won its fifth game in a row by defeating South Dakota State 88-83 on Saturday.

The game was a matchup of the two players with the highest point totals in a game this season. Nate Wolters of South Dakota State, who had 53 points on Thursday night at IPFW, scored 36 against Oakland on Saturday but it wasn't enough as the Jackrabbits' eight-game winning streak ended.

The Golden Grizzlies (13-13, 8-4) knocked South Dakota State (19-7, 10-3) out of a first-place tie with idle Western Illinois in the Summit League.

Wolters' performance Thursday surpassed Bader's 47-point effort against IUPUI on Jan. 24, when Bader had a school-record 11 3-pointers.

Duke Mondy scored 26 for Oakland, which shot 59 percent in the second half and 49 percent for the game. Chad White had 21 points for the Jackrabbits.

Omaha 85, IUPUI 78
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - John Karhoff scored 26 points and Omaha overcame a 22-point first-half deficit, defeating IUPUI 85-78 Saturday.

The Mavericks (9-18, 6-8 Summit League) got back in the game by opening the second half with a 19-4 run and shooting 63 percent after the break. Omaha took a 59-57 lead on Alex Welhouse's 3-pointer with 10:52 remaining. It was still a two-point game with about 6 minutes left when the Mavericks got consecutive baskets by Karhoff, Alex Phillips and Justin Simmons to pull away.

Simmons added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Mavericks, Welhouse had 17 points and 12 rebounds, and CJ Carter had 16 points.

Sean Esposito scored a career-high 23 points for IUPUI (6-20, 1-11), including 20 in the first half. His 3-pointer with 4:29 left in the half put the Jaguars ahead 49-27. Mitchell Patton also had 23 points, Greg Rice scored 16 and Donovan Gibbs had 12.

North Dakota State 58, Fort Wayne 54
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Lawrence Alexander scored 20 points, including two key baskets down the stretch, as North Dakota State defeated Fort Wayne 58-54 on Saturday.

After Fort Wayne pulled within two points with 3:17 remaining, Alexander buried back-to-back buckets to put the Bison (19-6, 10-3 Summit) ahead 55-49 with 1:48 left. Five straight points by Luis Jacobo got the Mastadons (10-16, 3-9 Summit) within one with 32 seconds to go, but Mike Felt hit 3 of 4 free throws the rest of the way for North Dakota State to clinch it.

Marshall Bjorklund added 14 points for the Bison, who committed just five turnovers and swept the season series with Fort Wayne.

Frank Gaines scored 16 points and Jacobo had 14 for the Mastadons, who lost their third straight game despite making 9 of 16 3-point attempts and shooting 46 percent overall.

Kansas City 80, South Dakota 65
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Fred Chatmon scored a career-high-tying 20 points off the bench, Nate Rogers added 17 and Kansas City snapped its five-game losing streak with an 80-65 win over South Dakota on Saturday.

Chatmon was 7 of 8 from the field and added seven rebounds for the Kangaroos (7-19, 4-8 Summit League), who kept up their hot shooting from their Jan. 12 victory at South Dakota. In that game, Kansas City shot a school-record 82 percent from the floor in the second half. The Kangaroos shot 54.5 percent for the game Saturday.

Kirk Korver chipped in 15 points and Estan Tyler had 14 for Kansas City, which never trailed after the opening minutes and led by as many as 17 in the second half. The Kangaroos were 12 of 24 from 3-point range and outrebounded South Dakota 34-24.

Trevor Gruis had 17 points for the Coyotes (8-16, 4-8), who have lost four in a row.
