Western Illinois 49, North Dakota State 36
FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Terell Parks scored 13 points and pulled down 15 rebounds Thursday night, helping Western Illinois dominate the second half of a 49-36 victory over North Dakota State and hold onto first place in the Summit League.

Adam Link had 14 points for the Leathernecks (19-5, 11-2), who stayed a half-game ahead of South Dakota State and moved 1 1/2 games ahead of the Bison (19-7, 10-4). Western Illinois plays at SDSU on Saturday.

Lawrence Alexander and TrayVonn Wright scored 10 apiece for the Bison, whose point total was their lowest ever at Bison Sports Arena, which opened in 1970.

NDSU closed the first half on a 10-0 run to lead 22-17 at halftime, but WIU scored 13 straight points just after halftime to go ahead for good. The Bison pulled within 35-31 on Alexander's free throws with 4:14 left, but the Leathernecks scored the next eight points to seal the victory.

South Dakota State 82, IUPUI 45
BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) - Jordan Dykstra had 14 points and a career-high 15 rebounds to lead South Dakota State in an 82-45 rout over IUPUI on Thursday night.

South Dakota State (20-7, 11-3 Summit) shot 53.8 percent from the floor, knocking down 28 of 52 shot attempts including 11 3-pointers. The Jackrabbits out-rebounded IUPUI 41-20 and had 17 assists.

Greg Rice gave IUPUI (6-21, 1-12) a 10-8 lead after a lay-up with 12:57 to go but South Dakota State answered with a 33-11 run to close out the first half leading 41-21.

South Dakota State's Nate Wolters led all scorers with 18 points and Chad White chipped in with 14 points and four rebounds.

Donovan Gibbs scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Jaguars.

It is the second straight 20-win season for South Dakota State, which has won nine of its last 10 games including an eight-game winning streak before the 88-83 loss to Oakland on Feb. 9.

Oakland 76, South Dakota 75
VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) - Duke Mondy scored 16 points, including the deciding free throw with 4 seconds left, and Oakland defeated South Dakota 76-75 on Thursday.

Corey Petros had 17 points and 13 rebounds and Drew Valentine had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Golden Grizzlies (14-13, 9-4 Summit), who have won five in a row since a 97-78 home loss to South Dakota.

After Juevol Myles' free throws tied it with 22 seconds to play, Mondy made one of two free throws. Myles missed a shot to win at the end.

Travis Bader added 16 points for Oakland, which shot 46 percent from the field.

Myles led the Coyotes (8-17, 4-9) with 23 points and Brandon Bos scored 22. South Dakota, which shot 50 percent in each half, has lost four in a row.

Fort Wayne 65, Kansas City 60
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - In a game between two struggling teams, Fort Wayne didn't struggle as much and emerged with a 65-60 over Kansas City on Thursday night.

Fort Wayne (11-16, 4-9 Summit) got 16 points from Frank Gaines, 12 points from Joe Reed and 11 points from Mario Hines.

Kansas City (7-20, 4-9) got 19 points and 10 rebounds from Fred Chatmon. It was his fourth double-double of the season. Estan Tyler finished with 15 points.

Kansas City had a 30-24 scoring advantage off the bench and 13-6 edge in second-chance points.

Fort Wayne shot 50 percent from the floor, but managed just 59 percent from the free-throw line. Kansas City made just 4 of 24 attempts from 3-point range and just 8 of 16 free throws.
