ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State is ranked No. 7 and Denver No. 9 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 preseason poll. The duo places The Summit League in the company of just two other leagues with multiple top-10 rankings.
NDSU's No. 7 ranking is the highest preseason position held by The Summit League in the 15 years of the Mid-Major Top 25 poll. The two top-10 Summit League teams is also a first.
The preseason favorite Bison return all five starters and 96 percent of their scoring from a team that finished 24-10 and reached The Summit League Championship Game in 2012-13. League newcomer Denver returns 10 letterwinners, including three starters, from a squad that went 22-10 and advanced to the second round of the NIT a year ago.
Also receiving votes were The Summit League's 2012-13 regular season co-champions, Western Illinois and South Dakota State.
