Fort Wayne's Jacobo Captures Player of the Week Award

ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Luis Jacobo was named as The Summit League's Men's Basketball Player of the Week following his performances Nov. 11-17.

Jacobo earned his first career Player of the Week award after leading Fort Wayne to a pair of wins with two 20-point performances last week. After missing the first three games of the season with an injury, the senior forward scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds in just 25 minutes off the bench in the win over UTPA Saturday. In Sunday's 69-66 win over Tennessee Tech, he had 20 points, 10 rebounds and two assists for his first double-double of the year. For the week, Jacobo averaged 22 points, 8.5 rebounds and one assist per game. He shot 57 percent (16-of-28) from the field, 40 percent from behind the arc (4-of-10) and 73 percent (8-of-11) at the free throw line. For his efforts in the two games, Jacobo was named to the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Holiday Inn Downtown Marina Islanders Basketball All-Tournament Team.
