Fort Wayne's Jacobo Named Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Fort Wayne's Luis Jacobo was named as The Summit League's Men's Basketball Player of the Week following his performance Jan. 6-12.

Jacobo garnered his second award of the season after averaging 22.0 points per game while leading Fort Wayne to a pair of key victories to open Summit League play. Against league favorite North Dakota State, ranked No. 9 in the Mid-Major Top 25 poll, Jacobo poured in a game-high 20 points, 13 of which came during the second half. His performance included converting all eight free throws and adding two steals. Two nights later, Jacobo tied his season-high with 24 points while leading Fort Wayne to a victory that snapped its eight-game losing streak against defending league champion South Dakota State. In that contest, Jacobo went 10-of-18 from the field, including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc, and added four rebounds and two assists.
