Fort Wayne 77, Western Illinois 64
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Luis Jacobo scored 23 points and made 6 of 10 3-pointers on Saturday night as Fort Wayne beat Western Illinois 77-64.

Steve Forbes had 18 points and six rebounds and Joe Reed added 10 points.

Fort Wayne (18-6, 6-1 Summit League) claims sole possession of first place in the Summit League with North Dakota State's 67-63 loss at Denver.

Western Illinois (9-13, 3-4) twice closed to within two points on second-half 3-pointers by Mike Miklusak and Garret Covington, but Fort Wayne pulled away by closing the game on a 15-4 run.

IPFW also closed out the first half on a 12-4 run to lead 41-32 at the break.

WIU shot 21 of 40 from the field but was out-rebounded 32-19. Covington led the Leathernecks with 18 points and made 5 of 8 3-pointers. Adam Link had 13 points, Jabari Sandifer added 12 and Mike Miklusak scored 11.

Denver 67, North Dakota State 63
DENVER, Colo. (AP) - Denver led wire-to-wire to upend North Dakota State 67-63 Saturday, surviving a late surge by the Bison who dropped out of a first-place tie in conference.

The Pioneers (11-11, 4-3 Summit) led 62-51 when Brett Olson hit a pair of free throws with 3:59 to play. But Lawrence Alexander and Kory Brown led a comeback for the Bison (16-6, 5-2), combining for 12 points. Alexander had a spree where he put back his own miss, stole the inbounds pass, was fouled and sank a pair of free throws that sliced the lead to 64-63 with a half-minute left.

The Bison fouled Chris Udofia, who made one of two free throws, but Alexander missed down the floor and Mike Felt's follow rimmed out. Marcus Byrd hit a pair of insurance free throws for Denver with 4 seconds left.

Olson scored 19 and Udofia 16 for Denver. Alexander finished with 20 points.

South Dakota State 70, South Dakota 68
VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) - Jake Bittle had a crucial steal and then sank a pair of free throws with 5 seconds left as South Dakota State hung on for a 70-68 win over South Dakota on Saturday.

Leading 67-59 with just under 4 minutes to play, South Dakota State (12-10, 4-3 Summit League) had to hold off South Dakota down the stretch as its advantage shrunk to 68-66 with 1:10 to go.

Bittle turned it around on a steal with 6 seconds to go, and got a trip to the free throw line, where he hit both shots to pad the lead against South Dakota's final layup at the buzzer.

Brayden Carlson scored 22 points, Jordan Dykstra added 16 plus 11 rebounds, while Bittle and Marcus Heemstra had 10 each for the Jackrabbits.

Casey Kasperbauer led South Dakota (8-13, 3-4) with 17 points, Trevor Gruis had 16 and Trey Norris 14.

Omaha 99, IUPUI 71
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Devin Patterson scored 15 points, leading six fellow teammates scoring in double figures, as Omaha ran past IUPUI 99-71 on Saturday.

Omaha (13-9, 3-4) boasts the Summit League's top scoring offense, averaging 81 points per game as the Mavericks made 38-of-69 shooting, including 12 of 23 from long distance.

Omaha never trailed in the game and broke out to a quick 15-4 lead in the first half on a Marcus Tyus layup while en route to a 55-36 advantage at intermission.

IUPUI responded poorly out of the gate in the second period as the Mavericks upped their lead to 67-40 just 2 minutes into the half and led by as many as 31 with 12 minutes to play.

Elijah Ray led Jaguar scorers with 19 points while IUPUI shot 49 percent, opposed to Omaha's 55 percent shooting accuracy from the field.
