Oral Roberts 69, Milwaukee 66
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Korey Billbury's three-point play with 5.6 seconds left gave Oral Roberts a 69-66 victory over Milwaukee on Wednesday in the Middleweight Bracket of the MGM Grand Main Event.

Milwaukee's Cody Wichmann converted two free throws with 2 seconds left, but Oral Roberts' Denell Henderson sealed it with two of his own.

Obi Emegano scored 20 for Oral Roberts (2-3) and Billbury finished with 19 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

Henderson's three-point play midway through the second half gave Oral Roberts a 15-point lead.

Steve McWhorter scored 21 points for Milwaukee (2-4) and JeVon Lyle had nine.

McWhorter made two 3-pointers during a 13-4 run to pull Milwaukee within 54-48 and made another at the 2:59 mark to cut it to 60-57. Lyle made two free throws to tie the game at 64 with 29 seconds left — the closest Milwaukee had been since it was tied at 20.

South Dakota 86, Wayne State 69
VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) Brandon Bos and Tyler Larson scored 22 and 19 points, respectively as South Dakota used a big second-half run to break away from Wayne State 86-69 Wednesday night for its first win this season.

The Coyotes (1-5), in their home opener, received 20-plus points from Bos for the second game in a row and third time this season. They'd lost their previous three games in overtime, triple overtime and a four-point regulation loss in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.

The Wildcats (1-4) placed four in double figures, led by Patrick Kurth with 19 points and seven rebounds. Kurth has scored in double figures every game this season.

Wayne State trailed 47-40 at the half, but closed to 48-46 before South Dakota reeled off an 18-5 run that featured 3-pointers by Bos and Eric Robertson.

Belmont 78, Denver 57
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Craig Bradshaw and Taylor Barnette combined for 49 points to lead Belmont past Denver 78-57 on Wednesday.

Bradshaw made 9 of 19 shots, including four 3-pointers, and finished with 28 points. Barnette hit five shots from behind the arc and had 21.

The duo was also 10 of 11 from the free throw line as Belmont (5-1) made 90 percent of its 32 free throw attempts, compared to 9 of 14 for Denver.

Nate Engesser made seven of his eight 3-point attempts and finished with a career-high 26 points for Denver (2-2). Marcus Byrd added 10.

Belmont built a 34-16 lead by halftime after holding Denver to 5-of-20 shooting. Bradshaw scored 12 and Barnette had 11 in the first half.

Brett Olson scored five points during Denver's 9-2 run to open the second half. But Bradshaw and Barnette scored 12 straight for Belmont to push ahead 48-33 with 12:40 left.
