Road Teams Take 3 of 4 in Saturday #SummitMBB Action


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Bryson Scott scored 31 points, including the go-ahead 3-point play late, and Fort Wayne rallied from a 15-point first-half deficit to beat North Dakota State 92-88 on Saturday.

Scott scored his 500th point of the season to become the 17th Mastodon to do so, and notched his 27th career 20-point game.

Kason Harrell scored 26 points with six 3-pointers and John Konchar added 13 points for the Mastodons (14-9, 3-3 Summit League), who trailed 51-40 at halftime and by as many as 15 in the first half.

Harrell scored eight straight and the Mastodons closed to 71-70. Scott's 3-point play amid a 10-0 run put Fort Wayne up 85-83 with 2:39 left. Scott made five more free throws from there, but the Bison closed to 90-88 on A.J. Jacobson's free throws with 23 seconds left before Konchar iced it with two from the line.

Jacobson and Paul Miller scored 21 apiece and Tyson Ward added 12 for the Bison (10-10, 2-3).


MACOMB, Ill. (AP) - David Jenkins Jr. scored 27 points to lead seven in double-figure scoring as South Dakota State remained undefeated in the Summit League with a 98-70 rout of Western Illinois on Saturday night.

South Dakota State (17-5, 5-0) has won eight straight and 10 of its last 11 games.

Jenkins, a freshman guard, made four 3-pointers, finished 9-of-13 shooting and now has scored in double figures in 18 games. Tevin King and Reed Tellinghuisen added 12 points apiece for the Jackrabbits, who shot 50 percent from the floor, including 14 of 28 from long range. Mike Daum and Skyler Flatten chipped in 11 points apiece, with Daum grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds.

Reserves Ian Theisen had 13 points and Chris Howell had 10 for South Dakota State.

Isaac Johnson scored 19 points for Western Illinois (10-8, 1-4). Kobe Webster added 17 points and C.J. Duff 16.


OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Tyler Hagedorn scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds and South Dakota beat Omaha 85-71 on Saturday night.

Hagedorn was 8 of 17 from the field -- including 3 of 4 from distance -- for the Coyotes (17-5, 5-1 Summit League), winners of their last three. Matt Mooney added 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals and Nick Fuller had 16 points and eight rebounds.

Hagedorn led the opening South Dakota surge, sinking a pair of 3-pointers, a layup and four free throws in the 14-4 start. Omaha pulled to 22-18 midway through the half but Fuller answered with a dunk, sparking a 19-6 run that stretched it to 41-24 and the Coyotes led 50-32 at intermission.

South Dakota led by double figures most of the second half and cruised to the win.

Zach Jackson led the Mavericks (7-15, 2-4) with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Lamar Wofford-Humphrey added 15.


TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Daniel Amigo scored 20 points and Ade Murkey hit four free throws in the final minute as Denver held off Oral Roberts, 73-64 in a Summit League battle on Saturday night.

The Pioneers held a nine-point lead at intermission, 34-25, but Oral Roberts scrambled back in the second half, pulling even midway through the period, 50-50, but Denver never surrendered the lead. After Albert Owens tied the game on a layup with 9:28 left, Amigo answered with a layup and a jumper and Jake Pemberton added two free throws to make it a six-point game.

Joe Rosga and Pemberton each added 13 points for Denver (8-12, 2-4). The Pioneers shot 57.4 percent from the field (27 of 47) and hit 7 of 12 from behind the arc.

Oral Roberts (7-15, 3-34 was 25 of 55 from the floor (45.5 percent) and 8 of 26 from distance. Austin Ruder finished with 16 points while Sam Kearns, Emmanuel Nzekwesi and Owens each added 10 points.
